Experience
I am currently a 7th grade Math teacher. I teach from Prentice Hall Pre-Algebra in my honors classes and teach from Connect Math 2 (CMP2) in my regular education math classes. I have also taught different units from 8th grade CMP2, as well. I am willing to learn any new text book, along with pulling different resources to help enhance different skills in order to be successful in math. I have taught anywhere from gifted honors to regular education to special education students in math. All students are able to learn, if they have a teacher/tutor that will teach according to their needs. I am willing to also tutor in any other subject, as long as I get as much information in order to prepare for the tutoring sessions. My tutoring method is friendly, positive, open, and encouraging, to create an environment in which your student feels comfortable learning. While celebrating learning goals, I also believe in creating a compelling challenge, so that your child can achieve new milestones and consistently strive to learn a new way to solve a problem. I also like to keep open communication with parents so we can ensure your needs and goals are being met. I genuinely believe learning is interesting and hope to inspire this attitude in your child as well. I will get back to any inquiries within 48 hours.
